The 3-year math

Stop renting your PDF editor.

A typical pro PDF subscription costs $19.99 a month. Here's what that adds up to over three years, next to SpitePDF.

$19.99/month subscription, 36 months$719.64
SpitePDF, Mac + iPhone + iPad$29.99

You keep $689.65. That's 95.8% less.

5 people × $19.99/month, 36 months$3,598.20
5 people × SpitePDF$149.95

A team of five keeps $3,448.25.

Five reasons

Pro-grade tools. No annual tax.

Made for the documents people actually work with all day: contracts, drawing sets, tax forms, inspection reports.

01 · Private by construction

Your documents stay on your device.

The PDF engine imports no networking libraries. There's no account to create, no analytics and no tracking. Text recognition runs on your device, not on someone's server.

  • The network is used only when you ask: a signature timestamp, a certificate check, submitting a form, or turning a web page into a PDF
  • Purchases are confirmed by Apple on your device
  • Nothing to upload, so nothing to leak
02 · Redaction that removes

A black box over a PDF isn't a redaction.

When a tool only draws a rectangle, the text underneath can still be selected and copied. SpitePDF takes the content out of the file itself.

  • Deletes the text under the mark from the page's content
  • Clips vector lines and shapes at the redaction edge
  • Blacks out the image pixels underneath
  • Removes links and comments that overlap the area
  • Rewrites the file so older versions aren't left inside it
  • Finds SSNs, EINs, card numbers, phone numbers, emails and your own patterns in one pass

Check it yourself: redact a word, save, then search for it or copy the area.

03 · Designed for one thumb

An iPhone app, not a shrunken desktop.

One dock with three controls, all within thumb reach. No stack of floating toolbars over your page.

  • Left circle: thumbnails, then back and forward after a jump, then Undo while you draw
  • Center pill: tap to search, swipe to scrub pages with a detent at each one, swipe up for open documents
  • Right circle: arms a tool and turns the dock into its colours and widths
  • Day, Night and Sepia page themes that keep your markup colours true
04 · For architects, engineers and builders

Take off quantities on site, on your iPad.

Calibrate a sheet to its scale, then measure lengths, perimeters and areas right on the drawing. Markups travel with the file.

  • Architectural, engineering, metric or custom scales, like 1/4" = 1'-0" or 1:100
  • Clouds, callouts and threaded replies, with XFDF import and export
  • Compare two revisions by text, or overlay them to spot what moved
  • Apple Pencil ink with pressure
05 · Signatures, forms and pro output

Sign it properly. Ship it ready.

Fill and calculate forms, sign with a certificate, and check files before they go to print or to someone who relies on a screen reader.

  • Certificate signatures (PAdES) with timestamps, plus signature verification
  • Password protection with AES-256
  • Print preflight for PDF/X, with colour profile and overprint checks
  • Accessibility checks: tags, reading order, headings and alt text
  • On the Mac: batch actions and hot folders that process files as they arrive
Made for

People who open PDFs for a living.

Legal and compliance

Redaction that takes the content out of the file, a one-pass finder for personal data, and certificate signatures. Confidential files never go to an upload site.

Redact with confidence. Nothing leaves your device.

Architecture, engineering, construction

Scale takeoffs, clouds and callouts, revision overlays, and XFDF so markups survive the trip to everyone else's software.

Take off quantities and catch revisions on your iPad.

Freelancers and small businesses

Sign contracts, fill tax forms, merge receipts and search scanned invoices, a few times a week, without a monthly bill for it.

Pay $29.99 once. Never rent a PDF editor again.

Mac power users

Native Swift on the Mac with a fast rendering engine, thousands of automated tests behind the file engine, and batch actions with hot folders.

Fast, native, and private by design.
